Research progress on the dynamic compressive properties of ultra-high performance concrete under high strain rates

Ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC) has been accepted rapidly attributed to its superior mechanical and the split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) is being widely utilized evaluate dynamic compressive properties of UHPC. Numerous studies have performed on behaviour UHPC, however, a systematic summary analysis UHPC tested by SHPB still missing. The review starts introducing advantages, deficiencies improvement methods system. Dynamic including strength, peak strain, stress-strain relationship elastic modulus are analyzed. effects steel fiber (content, type, orientations hybrid), temperature condition, coarse aggregate, nanomaterials, size effect loading rate characteristics comprehensively discussed. increase factor, energy absorption their models summarized. Then, constitutive model failure pattern evaluated. Based analysis, prediction strength proposed considering strain volume fiber, further, new mechanism under different rates proposed. Finally, topics requiring further study highlighted. It expected that this paper can provide references for prospective research
